HGV Class 2 Driver/Screening Operative XPO Logistics Stansted £11.56 an hour

HGV Class 2 Driver/Screening Operative
XPO Logistics
£11.56 an hour
This is a unique opportunity to join XPO Logistics in a varied role based from our consolidation centre near Stansted Airport. You won’t be spending the majority of your time behind the wheel, and the journeys will be short. As well as transporting goods, you’ll be required to load/unload and x-ray them once at your destination. Full training will be provided for this.

You’ll be representing XPO, working 40 hours per week on an ‘any 5 from 7’ rota, from 22:00 until 06:00.

We’ll need you to have the appropriate driving licence as well as a digicard and CPC. Experience isn’t a problem - we’re more than happy to look at newly-passed drivers! Communication will be one of your strong points and you’ll be flexible with a bit of irregularity in your hours. Finally and perhaps most importantly of all, you’ll have a good knowledge of Health and Safety in a transport environment – safety always comes first.

Due to the nature of this role, you’ll need to have a clean criminal record and be able to provide a five-year work and address history. Ideally, you won’t have any gaps in employment that exceed 28 days.

In return for your hard work, we’ll offer you a competitive rate of £11.56 per hour. You'll also be eligible for an unsociable hours bonus of £1.50 per hour during the hours between 22:00 and 04:00. You’ll also have access to a variety of high street discounts, including childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, holiday pay and many other perks.

XPO provides cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the world's most successful companies, including Disney, Pepsi, L'Oreal, Toyota and many others. We’re the fastest-growing transportation company on the Fortune 500 list and we’re just getting started.
