Axtec manufacture and supply the World’s most accurate dynamic axle weighbridge.  We are a passionate and persistent force in our sector, and specialise in inventing, designing, manufacturing, supplying and maintaining axle weighing systems for our clients who include big hitters within the retail sector, Government Departments and also for small independent businesses.
With our main factory and Head Office located in Runcorn, Cheshire we are a growing organisation that currently operates across the UK, and we have recently also launched our products internationally.

Job Description This is an interesting blended role that would suit someone who is looking to move away from driving a HGV five days a week, who is searching for more variety in their job whilst still retaining some HGV driving experience, and who would like their weekends back!  All we ask is that you are an experienced Class I HGV driver with an aptitude for mechanical and electrical work, and we will train you in everything else.

The role has two elements to it:

1. HGV Class I Driver 
• You will be driving our Dynamic Axle Weighbridge Test Lorry to customers’ sites within the UK and very occasionally Europe to service, calibrate and test the weighbridge facility.   
• Initially you will be driving the Test Lorry to cover our current driver’s holidays, training and any absence, however there may be scope in future to increase your driving hours.

2. Field Service Engineer
 • Fitting, commissioning and servicing our axle weighing systems at customer sites within the UK  
• Carrying out servicing and repairs to existing systems to ensure minimum downtime for the customer, ensuring excellent standards of work and customer service 
• Managing your own time to meet agreed schedules • Completing all paperwork accurately and timely
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and experience:
• HGV Class I licence 
• Clean driving licence 
• Basic mechanical and electrical skills, a positive and receptive attitude 
• Experience of site Health & Safety is desirable 
• Forklift licence desirable 
• Must be prepared to travel and commit to overnight stays on a regular basis.  Must be prepared to work flexibly to ensure that we are able to deliver a class-leading service to our customers 
• Would suit an energetic self-starter who enjoys working independently, but who is also a team player and will support colleagues when required
• Good communicator who is able to deal with customers on a face to face basis.  Able to represent the Company in a professional manner at all times
• Much of the work is done out of doors.  

Applicants should be prepared to work outside in all weathers for which protective clothing is provided. 

Full training will be given.  Starting salary of £27,380, with the opportunity to achieve merit increases as you work towards fully qualified status, plus uniform, tools, PPE, expenses, company phone and vehicle.   This is a challenging, demanding and interesting position working for an innovative organisation who are leaders in their field.
