Job description

·     Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers

·     £34,580 + overtime for Class 1/£29,640 + overtime for Class 2

·     Guaranteed 50 hours a week (one 30-minute break per day will be deducted)

·     Time and a half paid for any overtime worked

·     Monday - Friday, however weekend work is an option

·     Overnights will be required - £26.20 will be added to wages per night out

·     Full-time, permanent position

·     Chadkirk Transport is a small but growing company located in Romiley, Stockport. Since 2009, we deliver a same day courier and haulage service to a range of different customers and we now require active HGV drivers to join our growing team.

Who are we looking for?

As a FORS Silver Company, our drivers must undertake regular training and refresher courses for compliance purposes.  We are therefore looking for a hard-working and motivated class 1 driver with a desire for continuous personal development. We want to hear from drivers who are polite, time-efficient and have a passion for delivering great customer service and who hold a valid driving licence, CPC card and Digital Tacho card.  Applicants must also be flexible with early starts and late finish times Monday to Friday.  On average 3-4 nights out a week will be required.

This is a demanding, but rewarding, role involving some manual handling. You should be confident driving to different locations throughout the UK including London.

Job Responsibilities

·     Carry out collections and deliveries in a professional manner to all customers

·     Keep an accurate record of deliveries and collections using appropriate documentation provided by the Company

·     Drive the Company’s vehicles responsibly and safely; being aware and adhering to all driving legislation

·     Daily checks on the vehicle to be carried out ensuring any defects found are reported to the Transport Manager

·     Daily equipment checks to be carried out and any lost or defective equipment found to be reported to the Transport Manager

·     Represent the Company and its values to ensure a professional and business-like image is portrayed to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work at all times

·     Carry out other tasks and duties as required

Essential:

·     HGV licence held for at least one year

·     No more than 6 points on licence

·     Valid driver CPC card

·     Valid digital tachograph card

·     No criminal convictions

Desirable:

·     Located near to the Stockport, Manchester or Cheshire areas

·     Good knowledge of the UK highways

·     Good understanding of the law relating to drivers hours, working time directive and tachograph regulations

·     Forklift licence

·     ADR (hazardous goods) trained
