HGV Class 1 Driver- moving plant machinery
We are looking for a HGV Class 1 driver required to join a successful award winning family-run business. Jet Plant Hire Ltd works with some of the largest contractors within the country.
We are looking for someone with a good attitude, willing to work hard, and work as part of a team.
The role will require driving a HGV vehicle, delivering and transporting large plant equipment to customer sites whilst adhering to the company standards and procedures.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, the role will include:
- Working as a tipper on site
- Loading and unloading plant equipment
- Ensuring goods are safely secured
- Comply with both HGV tacho driving rules and regulations as well as company guidelines
- Daily vehicle checks and minor maintenance i.e. bulbs/oil/coolant etc
- Submission of paperwork/waste transfer notes/fuel receipts in a timely manner
- Working with the transport team to ensure efficient route planning
- Log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Keeping vehicle in good condition
This role requires someone who is flexible and adaptable to change. Shift patterns are five in seven, and involve some nights out during the week as well as some night shifts and alternative weekend work. We are a 24/7 operation and are looking for drivers who would like a range of shift patterns. We guarantee a minimum of five shifts a week.
Day rate: £180
Night rate: £221
This is not a regular driving job, it is a very hands on position and we are looking for a highly adaptable person, who has enthusiasm for their job and wants to be part of a team.
