Class 1 HGV Tramper Needed

Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a full-time tramper for our general haulage operation at our depot in Howden. All our drivers belong to our close-knit team and aren't considered another number, our drivers have their own truck, we operate with a full fleet of modern Scania, DAF & Ivecco, these have fridges and microwaves fitted as standard.

Role Requirement

· Appropriate training and licences are held and maintained for the type of vehicle being operated. Any changes to professional licences are communicated to the site management.

· Conduct all pre-journey checks in accordance with company procedures. Check the safe operation of a vehicle prior to its use and report, immediately, any defects found and/or any that occur during use of the vehicle.

· Ensure vehicles are only parked in appropriate overnight parking areas and that the vehicle and the load are appropriately secured. Arrange all secure parking with Transport office.

· Immediately report all incidents, dangerous occurrences/near misses and cases of ill health to a manager. Promptly report any defects in machinery, plant, vehicles, and equipment (including personal protective equipment), or any obvious health risk.

· Use the correct tools and equipment for the job, including safety equipment and protective clothing supplied by the company and keep tools and equipment in good condition. Always carry the relevant safety equipment.

· Transport goods between supplier and customer sites. Oversee and assist with loading and unloading.

· Ensure your vehicle is clean, safe and your load is legally roadworthy, fully secured with necessary strapping.

· Update delivery paperwork, keep track of mileage and fuel. Utilise company and customer mobile apps to track delivery progress, upload photos of POD notes for every delivery and report discrepancies.

Paid Weekly we offer the below rates;

· £13.50p/h Mon - Fri. (£15.50p/h after 8hrs)

· £16p/h Saturdays.

· £18p/h Sundays.

· Bank Holidays – Overtime Rate plus day in Lieu.

· £26.20 per Night Out.

· £20 per month phone contribution.

· Paid Breaks.

Salary Calculation based on 65hrs per week, which all day drivers are currently doing. There are no hidden bonuses or KPI's to hit, these are transparent earnings.

· 40hrs @ £13.50p/h.

· 25hrs @ £15.50p/h.

· £1,037.50 per week before tax (Plus 4x Nights Out @ £104.80 and £5 p/w phone)

· Totalling - £1,037.50

We currently offer all drivers overtime throughout the week and Saturday & Sundays are optional.

· 20 days holiday plus statutory, paid at an average salary over the year.

· 1 Extra day holiday per year for the first 5 years.

Must have a Class 1 licence, full CPC, Digi Tacho card and previous experience. Campeys are a family run business, and all drivers have a close working relationship with the planning team and senior management.
